Co-workers are great. Only me and one other class a driver and one straight truck driver. We make it all run between us. Management is mi away. Pros Decent money. Cons No time to take care of your other affairs.. Long hours usually 12 to hours, sometimes dispatch actually force the drivers to go over their 14 hour short haul exempt! Which is illegal! Great place to start your trucking career. Got my class a training there and got help to pass my cdl drive test. Management there favors people even though it is a unionize teamster company! Which is horrible!

Violates teamster union contract! The hardest part of the job is long hours, even though I had a local pickup and delivery position! I worked with a trailer mfg. Sounds like you are, but then again I thought that as well until my first week solo. After my first week I was questioning whether or not I should come back the next week lol. Holland is YRC regional carrier in the Midwest, Reddaway is their regional carrier for the west coast.

As far as I know Reddaway and Holland have never been related. Usually refers to a driver hauling freight within one particular region of the country. Regional route drivers often get home on the weekends which is one of the main appeals for this type of route. Yes Holland is another subsidiary to yrc which will prob be part of the merge with yellow coming up.

I have seen some dollies in our yard with Holland on them. Haha thanks Anne it is a bit frightening sometimes lol but exciting to.

I want to be safe as possible and run as much as I can. I feel pretty good with it all. Just remember the most important thing is safety, take your time and double check everything. Better to take a few extra minutes than to make mistakes like I did.

First day solo I didn't check rear trailer hight and jumped the 5th wheel. That time spent cranking the rear trailer higher to pull out and then lower to hook is a great time for reflection lol. Oh damn that must of sucked lol ya I like to take my time and check everything multiple times. I try to make that 45 minutes. Lol I always make sure the trailer height is low enough.
