The actions of our members is our source of power and influence. Energetic, tenacious, motivated, engaging, collaborative, and amazingly effective.
Lots of back-up: Three police officers including a sergeant , two high-ranking city officials, three individuals associated with LIHI and several others. She showed up and spoke up at the May 2nd town hall meeting and many city council meetings since. She has been interviewed numerous times by local and national news organizations on topics ranging from spending on homelessness, transparency and accountability, public safety to sanctioned encampments to the head tax.
And on the issue of the head tax, Erika has done more than talk. She has spent countless hours collecting signatures and coordinating the efforts of many others to gather signatures and then she made sure that volunteers were appropriately thanked for their efforts. Erika is a new SOS member who has made a big impact in short order.
We are very grateful for her time and the many actions she has taken on behalf of our community over the past few months. Thank you, Erika! The recent news that housing activists refused to leave a hotel in Fife sheds light on ongoing homeless issues in Seattle and the surrounding region, and how leadership is playing a part in potentially contributing. These ideologies spread into suburban areas, spread across the state.
You know, too many people are sitting on the sidelines, complaining about it. WA analyst: Inslee pretending that capital gains tax is not income tax. Nagy is part of a group that tries to help clean up Seattle parks and other public areas, but worries that such groups are doing work the city should be doing, and therein enabling a passive approach. They were posting today about what we could do, for example, at the Ballard Commons. Spokane mayor welcomes police leaving Seattle, reforming without defunding.
