The top 3 overall male and female will receive an award. The top 3 male and female winners of each age group will also receive an award. Awards will be presented once the race is completed. Relay teams compete in a relay format - one person swims, then one person bikes then one person runs. The top 3 in each division will receive awards - get a team and have some fun! Utilizing the picturesque canal of Downtown Indianapolis and the streets traversing the city's cultural and historic landmarks, TRI Indy offers participants a challenging and memorable course. All participants will receive a Tech shirt and medal! This event has a limit of 1, total athletes. Join the fun and put together a team of 2 or 3 friends! Our overall, age-group and division winners will take home an official TRI Indy draw string bag!
It is lightweight, and perfect for carrying around gear! View the course maps for the Swim, Bike and Run portions of the event at www. The swim portion of the triathlon will be a point to point course in the beautiful Indianapolis Canal, which is 4-feet deep and feet wide. Participants will start in waves, with faster swimmers going earlier than slower swimmers.
Be sure to enter your swimming ability when you register. The depth of the canal is 4 feet deep. Swimmers will enter the water in 2-second intervals. Participants in the bike will ride through a scenic and fairly flat Olympic Distance will do 2 loops, while the Sprint Distance will do just 1 loop. This course travels north, along the White River and up to the Velodrome near 38th Street.
Expect great volunteer support and police protection along the way. The 3. Participants will travel along the west side of the White River from Celebration Plaza, up to 10th Street, and then back along the east side of the river.
This open area is also a perfect for spectators who want to watch the event! Pre-race instructions will be posted here approximately 5 days before the event. These instruction will give you details on the event to make your TRI Indy experience more enjoyable!
Parking information will be available soon. If you cannot make it to this location you can pick up your packet on event morning at the race site from 6AM to AM Registration will remain open at Packet Pick-up Saturday, July 22 and Raceday Sunday, July 23 We still have room to sign up!
